Solid Quartersawn White Oak Dining Room & Rustic Cherry Rolltop Desk - Designed Exclusively for Don & Pat

 

Don & Pat have some great taste in furniture - thanks for sharing pictures with us! The couple is known for throwing elaborate dinner parties, sometimes totaling dozens of people. They started working on their dining room last year. Obviously, playing host to such large crowds requires plenty of service pieces, particularly silverware. To accommodate their extensive collection of silver, they selected a lingerie chest from Jonas's Shaker Bedroom Collection. Its small footprint fits their space while the shallow drawers are perfect for silverware and other utensils.

This spring, Don & Pat returned to us to replace their worn dining chairs. They had planned to keep their existing table until they came across our discontinued Sante Fe table tagged at a generous discount as a Floor Model Special. At 4 feet by 6 feet with 4 leaves, it can easily seat 10 to possibly 12 guests. Plus, it just happened to be built in quartersawn white oak, same as their silverware chest. They selected Christy chairs, which are designed with lumbar support for added comfort, and opted for arm chairs for the heads to the table.

In addition to their dining room, Don & Pat also have a lovely Country Home Rolltop Desk built in rustic cherry with Boston stain. They had it built in a single-pedestal model to fit their small space. They love that they can pull the tambour down to hide any clutter! Built in rich rustic cherry with signature brushed nickel cup pulls, this classic design looks stately while being ultra-functional.

Solid Rustic Cherry Living Room Tables - Designed Exclusively for Kara

 

We love when our customers share their results with us – thank you, Kara!  You may remember Kara's dining room was our first featured project, and you can view the results, below.  Kara was so thrilled with the design & quality of her dining room that she decided to return for occasional tables for her newly renovated family room.  With a family that includes three sons, Kara needed sturdy furniture that would accommodate the men in her life without sacrificing style.  

 

Kara says that the best thing about her new tables was the ability to personalize the pieces to her needs.  With her chosen tables available in several sizes, she was able to choose small pieces, to avoid overwhelming the room.  She chose rustic cherry wood, so her tables show a few of the knots & pits that are inherent in real cherry wood.  "That's my favorite part," she says.  "It reminds me that this furniture is unique - no one will ever have my exact same tables!"  Kara also loved our suggestion to add a lift-top to the coffee table.  "My boys do everything in that family room!  They really put that lift-top to good use."  She also selected an upgraded hardware, which really makes a difference in pulling together the look.

Solid Maple and Cherry Dining Set - Designed Exclusively for Kara

 

We love when our customers share their results with us – thank you, Kara!  Kara desired the quality of our Amish crafted furniture, but was surprised to find the transitional look was she after.  The Helvetica leg table fit her tastes – Shaker-inspired, but with fashionably curved legs.  With five sizes available, she was able to find the right size to seat six people, while the self-storing leaves let her expand the table for special occasions.  The Brookfield chairs were a perfect complement, with similar lines and soft arcs.  Kara wanted a look that was casual, but without losing the beauty of the natural materials used, so we used a two-tone finish.  By staining the table base & chairs a dark color, the Rustic Cherry top, finished in a light “Seely” stain, becomes the focal point, with the unique grain patterns & markings taking center stage.

Solid Oak Dining Set - Designed Exclusively for Josephine

 

Thank you, Josephine, for sharing pictures of your finished project!  Josephine started with our popular Shaker Double Pedestal table with self-storing leaves in solid oak.  With several size options available, Josephine was able to find the perfect fit, 42”x60” for daily living, with 4 leaves expanding the table to seat 10.  The display model wasn’t quite the right color, so she selected “Seely” stain, one of the almost 20 finishes we offer on oak.  Across the showroom, Josephine spotted the perfect chair, the Captian's chair with fully upholstered back & seat.  It doesn’t matter that our display model chair was cherry – we can have any chair built to match any table!  Finally, she selected a durable fabric that can be easily cleaned with any upholstery cleaner.
